Sea star (starfish)
The name of this project and the central image
can be understood in two ways.
1. Sea star or Starfish is an echinoderm-type invertebrate.
2. The Sea “star” is an object of filming, which is being hunted
by cinematographers and television operators.
Currently, there are about 2000 species of these animals. In their body shape, they resemble a multi-beam (in most cases 5) star,
from which they got their name.
One of the features of these animals is a highly developed ability to regenerate. Therefore, the method that fishermen resorted to in the fight against these oyster eaters turned out to be ineffective.
They cut the starfish caught in the nets and threw them overboard.
But as a result of this, after a while there were more sea stars:
many of the severed parts were regenerated into full-fledged animals. Especially notable is the genus Linckia, in whose representatives the detached ray is able to recover into a new organism.
In the design of this frame, guilloche rosettes are used, which,
like most starfish, have a 5-fold rotational symmetry.

Морская звезда
Название этого проекта и центральное изображение
можно понимать двояко.
Морская звезда — беспозвоночное животное типа иглокожих.
Морская «звезда» — объект съёмок, за которым охотятся
кино- и телеоператоры.
В настоящее время насчитывается около 2000 видов этих животных. По форме тела они напоминают многолучевую
(в большинстве случаев 5) звезду,
от чего и получили своё название.
Одной из особенностей этих животных является сильно развитая способность к регенерации. Поэтому способ, к которому прибегали рыбаки в борьбе с этими пожирателями устриц, оказался неэффективным. Попавших в сети морских звёзд они разрубали
на части и выбрасывали за борт. Но в результате этого через некоторое время морских звёзд становилось больше: многие из отрубленных частей регенерировали в полноценных животных. Особенно примечателен этим род Linckia, у представителей которого оторвавшийся луч способен восстановиться в новый организм.
В оформлении этой рамки использованы гильоширные розетки, обладающие, как и большинство морских звёзд,
5-лучевой симметрией.
